Welcome To My Web Page. My web guy told me to write a small blurb about myself. Then he said to make it short. This is the toughest part of the whole web endeavor.
A Long-Ago History
Galveston is my origin (BOI), but I have lived in and traveled to lots of different places, too. I taught high school English and journalism at Dobie in Pasadena, Texas, and then I moved to Lee College in Baytown, Texas, to teach speech communication and English. My two daughters, Sharon and Amelia, both still live in Houston and in the Houston area. They are both city girls and always will be. My husband Tom was also in education, so during our winter breaks and our so-called summers off, all of us would travel here and there for as long as our time off allowed. We found Silver City, fell in love with the place, and in 1986 bought property here that borders the Gila National Forest. I like to tell people we are pre-WalMart, and for those who might remember, Jesse's on the corner of Bullard and Broadway used to make the best burritos.
A Not-So-Long-Ago History
We moved permanently to Silver City in 2001, and I started looking around for something to do that I knew I would really love. I adopted two BLM burros, Donkey Xote and Lagniappe, in 2003 and work with them almost daily getting them, among other things, pack ready. And as I write this, I have a four-day-old Dwarf Nigerian goat asleep at my feet beneath the computer desk. I have two dogs, Lillie and Mags, and two rescued cats, Dehlia and Boudreaux. I see lots of skunks, peccaries, deer, and birds of various kinds passing through our area. The name Frumpy Fox came from one particular mamma fox who spent time drinking from our bird bath.
The bottom line for me is I love animals. All of them. Even when I was still in my teaching career, I purchased pet sitting books by Patti Moran and read them with an eye to the future. I know I will never get financially rich through Frumpy Fox, LLC, but the payoff comes from meeting some wonderful people who allow me to take care of their equally wonderful pets.
